Legendary rockers Tesla moved into the House of Blues Vegas for a five day residency between October 17th through the 25th. This was quite an honor to cover their first night of the residency. I fell in love with this band in 1985 with their first album Mechanical Resonance. At a time when there were glam bands with big hair and make up, there was Tesla, the blue collar keeping it real band. I remember going through some hard times in high school. Skipping school, I drove down to the beach and listened to the cassette in my car over and over. “Gettin’ Better” and “Changes” were my theme songs that helped me keep going and know that soon the sun would shine through my window. Tesla is one of the few bands that I love every song on their albums. There isn’t a single song that I will skip over. When people ask “what’s your favorite Tesla song?” I’ll name 20 songs. Their songs are relatable and inspiring without being sappy, just real life struggles. Yes, life is hard, but you will get through it, “EZ Come EZ Go” and “Hang Tough”. I was excited to see what they would choose to play on this night.
During this exclusive five-day run of shows, Tesla touched on all angles from their electric songs like “Modern Day Cowboy,” “Little Suzi”, and “Heaven’s Trail,” as well as their acoustic songs such as their most popular Top 10 Billboard songs “Signs” and “Love Song”. Fans from all over are headed to Las Vegas to experience Tesla in this intimate setting of House of Blues for this special limited-time engagement. I’ve seen Tesla back in ’89, ’92, 2015, and now in 2025 they are still Kickin ‘Ass up on the stage! House of Blues Vegas has personality and it’s a perfect venue for Tesla. There’s the GA floor level a little lower, like a sunken living room. Then a level with tables next to the sound board, bars on all sides and balcony level. Everywhere in the venue is a great spot to see the stage. There’s nothing quite like seeing a band that you love with a whole group of strangers singing every word together, smiling at each other. Hearing the first notes of “Paradise”, “Love Song”, and “Signs” and the fans cheering, Jeff Keith is still a great front man, engaging with the crowd and his big smile.
The band has spent the past year bringing their Keepin’ It Real Tour to sold-out venues nationwide. They have announced tour dates for January 2026 as they head out on the next chapter of their highly successful Keepin’ It Real Tour, now appropriately named Still Keepin’ It Real. Whether you are a diehard fan or know a few of their hits (I promise you will know more songs than you think) this is a fun show! Fans are encouraged to grab them early before they sell out. You do not want to miss this tour!
