Dayseeker made their return to Soma San Diego to close out their Pale Moonlight Tour with support from Northlane, Wind Walkers, and sace6! This was a semi hometown show for the guys as they're from Orange County, so what better way to close out a tour than a sold out night at Soma! I love Dayseeker shows so much because they always feel so much like a family. The crowd, the energy, everyone, and everything feels so connected and like one. Since this was closing night of the tour, you can expect a little bit of closing night chaos.

sace6 got the night started! Originally formed in 2024 by sace and Noah Thomas, the project lives where pop melody, R&B intimacy, and metal intensity collide. During “allured”, sace asked everyone to get their phone flash lights out. For it being so early in the night, Soma was already PACKED so that room was bright! In between the set change, the in house music played “One Last Breath” by Creed and it was one big crowd singing along with a lot of people getting their phone flashlights out again.

Wind Walkers was up next and opened with “Drowning Hymns” off their 2023 album, What If I Break? A majority of their setlist came from their most recent EP that dropped late last year, I Don’t Belong Here. I always love seeing Wind Walkers live because you can really feel their positivity and their energy radiating off of them. They’re just one of those bands that’s great on the radio, but on a whole new level when you see them live! They brought out a special guest, their photographer Danielle, to sing “Silk & Static”!  Everytime I’ve seen them, they bring her out and she crushes it everytime! They did a mini drum solo right before “Dead Talk” and then Noah Thomas from Sace6 came back out to sing “Body Bag” which closed out their set!

Up next was Aussie band, Northlane! They had an extra special surprise during “Talking Heads”, Garrett Russell from Silent Planet came out and sang with them! I always love when Garrett makes a surprise appearance! Noah Thomas came out again during a medley of their older songs while they were playing “Jinn”. Guitarist Josh Smith jumped off the stage and onto the barricade to crowd surf. I think the crowd was a little confused at first because they dropped him, but once they got him up again, he went pretty far back! They closed out their set with “Clockwork”.

had a very haunting stage setup. With pillars covered in vines, a coffin in the middle of the stage, fog, and ominous lighting. Almost a polar opposite feeling since the last time I saw them at Soma during their Dark Sun Tour that was very colorful and dreamlike. To add to the list of special guest of the night, Benny Scholl from Avoid came out during “Dream State”! This is the type of end of tour chaos I live for. Dayseeker slowed it down for a minute and played an acoustic cover of My Chemical Romance's “The Ghost of You” which was really beautiful. Lead singer Rory Rodriguiz got a bit teary eyed during “Homesick”. Every time I’ve seen Dayseeker play, Rory gets choked up at least once. I love his vulnerability and the fact that he is open to share what he shares. Because of this, Dayseeker has helped me so much find words and meanings to things that I’ve struggled with. Marcus Bridge from Northlane came out during “Bloodlust” and sace came out a bit later for “Living Dead”! The amount of on stage collabs that happened this night was so much fun!

At the very end of the night when the band was throwing out all their goodies, Drummer Zac Mayfield handed out a couple of his cymbals. Which, out of all the shows I’ve been to over the years, I’ve never seen anybody do that! It was the last night of the tour though and I thought that was pretty awesome. This was the final night of The Pale Moonlight Tour but Dayseeker will be doing a European tour this winter! It hasn't been announced yet, keep an eye out for their annual holiday show at the Anaheim House of Blues! Tickets to that go fast so be on the look out!
