Bad Omens brought their Do You Feel Love Tour to a sold out crowd at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles! This is Bad Omens biggest tour yet, selling out arenas all over the country with support from President and Beartooth.
President kicked off the night. The mysterious masked band went viral last year and this tour acts as the group’s first full US tour. They played songs off their King Of Terrors EP and also their latest single “Angel Wings” while delivering speeches from a podium between songs. They just announced their first-ever North American headline tour which will kick off in September of this year in Nashville, Tennessee and sees the band traveling all over the U.S, and Canada, before ending in Dallas, Texas in October.
Next up was Beartooth, exploding right into “Might Love Myself”. Beartooth is always such an exciting band to watch because of how high their energy is from start to finish and how Frontman Caleb Shomo is constantly running around and dancing on that stage. There seriously is never a dull moment during their sets. Caleb called for everyone to get down and then jump before going into “The Lines”. Earlier this month they released leading single “Free” which also debuted a new look for Caleb, which I am all for. He’s expressing himself in the way he wants to express himself and I think that is so cool because he is free! After they played their last song, Caleb dropped the mic and led a crowd-wide a cappella singalong in true Freddie Mercury fashion. We were a couple sections back from the stage in seats and we could hear him way back there.
I’ve been a fan of Bad Omens for a while now but have only been going to their shows for the past five years. It's been insane watching them grow, from playing during the day on the small stage at a festival, to selling out a huge venue like this. Incredibly proud and happy for these guys! Their whole set was divided into tapes. Short cinematic interludes that set the tone for each new part in their setlist. The mood of each tape would change from welcoming, to more anger and confusion, to accepting. The visuals in each tape were dark, eire, and a little unsettling and I love the element these brought to the show.
Lead Singer Noah Sebastian took a minute towards the end of their set to read as many signs in the crowd as he could. He said that he was trying to drag out the show because he was having a good time and didn’t want the night to end just yet. Some of these signs were asking for sticks so he grabbed a handful of sticks and started just throwing them out. One sign said, “I’d sell my kidney for a stick” and Noah said, “well don’t do that we hand them out for free.” Another said they drove 800+ miles to get to this show and he said, “well if that's true that deserves a stick”.
I’ve always loved their song “Dethrone” but they take it to the next level live. With the “Concrete Jungle” chant before and also they pyro, that song is just so powerful live and the perfect way to close the night. This tour has since concluded but Bad Omens will be kicking off a European Tour starting in June and will come back to the states to play Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival in July!
